I'm going to have to call this one how I see it. The fact is, as obvious as that statement may be, alot of us are so caught up in the whole lifestyle thing that we forget this is a basic truth. We gotta break the cycle.

I remember sitting in EOCI out in Pendleton one winter. My state issued clothes included a pair of Prison Blues jeans, long johns, a Big Ben denim jacket, boots, a few pair of sock, two shirts and a blue button up shirt….oh yeah, and a beanie cap. This particular winter, I remember wearing all of that - at once. I lay in my metal bunk, with my feet hanging up and over the 2 inch lip at the end of the bed because I was about two inches longer than the bed itself. I wore every article of clothes I was issued, layer upon layer. I was also covered with two wool army blankets as well as my bed sheets. I lay there watching the steam come from my mouth as though I was smoking, as the hot air of my breath reached the one digit degree temp of my cell. I shivered and could not get warm. Not with all the clothes, blankets and sheets…my been cap, jacket, boots, all of it.

They didn't turn the heat up because we were all so uncomfortably cold. And they didn't care that the central air system that vented the same recycled air into my cell as the other 50 cells on my cell block kept us all sick with cold and flu symptoms all winter either. Once I would begin to feel a bit better, that air - and the germs of over 100 other inmates on my unit - would again circulate through my cell and the process of being cold and sick would start all over again without so much as a day of reprieve.

I could tell you other stories, true stories as well, about my gangster homies raping a handicap inmate who had a broken leg and couldn't even begin to fight back two cells down from mine. Or about what inmates in the kitchen put in the food like lasagna - just for fun…

Perhaps not as heavy, but equally as infuriating to the convict I had once been, was the first time I was reading an exciting novel from the prison library. Only to get to the last chapter and realizing that some illiterate and vindictive inmate had ripped out all the last pages so I wouldn't get to read the conclusion of my book.

This is all part of prison life. And like I said, it sucks. If you want to be in a cold empty cell alone - feeling cold, empty and alone inside your heart - in a world where no one, and I mean no one, cares what happens to you, perhaps then prison is for you. But for the rest of us, it just aint the place to be.

I'm tired of watching my homies continue to go to prison. I'm tired of watching my homies play a game can't be won. If you've lived this way, or if what I just described was also part of your life as well, and you're tired of it. Maybe it's time to change. I know one thing, it's east to forget the harsh realities and consequences of our lives in the criminal world from time to time. But like me, perhaps you remember how it REALLY was - or is and you have a moment of clarity where you can actually smell, feel and taste just how bad life had gotten. If so, we got options. Hit us up. We got a new thing going on out here.

www.gorillagospel.com

Gorilla Gospel MC - 777 - That's the biz.

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; We lived looking over our shoulders for years. With this in mind, we not only understand, but we also created a brotherhood that protects and provides safety from this. We say, "The Game" is the gift that keeps on giving, on no uncertain terms. However, if you have chosen to leave that life, and also have chosen us as family, we take care of our own.

We grow together to establish spiritual roots and strive to become the type of men God had designed us to be. But, we are not a cult, and we honor our brothers no matter where they are at on their spiritual walk. We grow and build together. We take care of our own.

We are not very concerned with outreach ministry. We don't see that as our calling. We know most Christian MC's with similar pasts as ours have been called to preach the good new to 1%ers and thus they go on runs with the hopes of converting outlaws to Jesus followers. This is awesome! But, this is not what we do. It is not who we are. Our club is a brotherhood that, we believe, before us did not exists. Simply out, we take care of our own.

Look at this as an alternate to crime. The same things that draw so many into fast life, fast lane living, are the same things that draw us to this:

Going against the grain

High stakes action

Brotherhood

Family

Excitement

Tired of being bored

A sense of ownership and belonging...

This is what we are about.
John 10:10
The Devil came to rob, kill and destroy. But Jesus came so that you may have life and have it abundantly.

That's the biz!

777 - Gorilla Gospel Gang. 3-piece patched up, let it be known!

Christian Outlaws

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; Remember Paul's day? When preaching the unsearchable riches of Christ (Eph. 3:8) wasn't looked upon too kindly? Jesus brought the Truth and the light, and they killed Him. Before that, he rolled from city to city with his 12 disciples and evaded the cops because it wasn't yet His time. Does any of this ring a bell.

Fast forward to now. Our society has been so desensitized by crime, violence, gangs, drugs, sex, ect. that doing wrong is not only acceptable, it is rewarded. We see it on TV, in our music, everywhere. So, when you think about it, following Christ is "outside" of what society tells us is o.k.. This makes US, as believers, the outlaws.

So, I now introduce to you, the new focus of our ministry: Gorilla Gospel MC. We have created a brotherhood of outlaws that are not afraid to go against the grain of things.

Bottom line:

There's a war going on…what side are you on?

<strike></strike>

Detroit Minister - Kevin Butcher: Must see!

Today, while I was in the gym, a man who I only know from working out struck up a conversation about my ministry. He mentioned that this weekend his church had a guest speaker from Detroit, Kevin Butcher, who shared a powerful message that had such an impact as to bring many men to tears - including him. I asked if he would send me the link and he did. I spent the last hour watching this mans message, here in Bend, Oregon at Antioch Church. Let me just say this. Watch this for 19 minutes. I dare you. If it doesn't speak to you by then, simply turn it off. This, I promise, could very well be the best hour you spend on the computer this week.

Todd G

www.gorillagospel.com

Welcome to the jungle

Special Guest :: Kevin Butcher from Antioch Church on Vimeo.

http://vimeo.com/17506786

Lecrae - Rebel (The Album)

So, it’s that time again. I’m not sure if I will always co-sign a featured project, but in keeping with what I wrote about Japhia Life last month, I have another project to highlight. Lecrae – Rebel.
Here’s the deal. If you haven’t listened to Lecrae’s music, you are missing out on one of the few real deals in hip-hop. Not only is his skill level excellent, he’s got some deep roots to say the least. Buy Rebel and you will be fed spiritually as much if not more than from your average church service on any given Sunday.
Note: He’s got one of the best songs about the church I’ve ever heard. Not only does he acknowledge the good and the bad, he also reaffirms what God’s will and vision is for His church.
In a nutshell, the album is no joke. Check it out if you get the chance.

If you're gunna be a monkey, be a GORILLA!

Japhia Life - Nazareth

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 261px; height: 283px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_iBLX2wNGYI0/TL-1HHbl72I/AAAAAAAAACw/8EFcSNLREaI/s320/japhia_life.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530338001292750690" />
Just bought Japhia Life’s new album, Nazareth. First off, let me just say that I am a big fan of this mans music. If you don’t have his last album, The Fountain of Life, it might be wise to grab it. As you know, I don’t usually co-sign many projects or CD’s on my blog. But in this case, I thought I would mention the guy because his heart and authenticity shines through in a major way. On Nazareth, there is song where he calls other artists and Christians to “Turn The World Upside Down”. I’m loving that. Really, in a nut shell, that’s our mission here. So, on behalf of Gorilla Gospel Entertainment, Todd G, and www.toddgministries.org, lets turn the world upside down. That’s the biz.

Todd G - No Place Like Home

This is a picture video my beautiful wife Sarah Gobeille made for me. Alot of memories wrapped up in this one. This song, No Place Like Home, is unreleased. I just made it for fun and nostalgia. It shows the good and bad of the Northwest. And although I spent years of my life in California and Nevada, to me, the Northwest is home here on Earth. I dedicate this one to those of you who are also from this neck of the woods. If you've gone to these schools, did time in these facilities, cheered the Oregon Ducks in Mac Court, Hayward Field and Autzen Stadium, ran around the Portland and Eugene streets; this is for you.

The Light – Volume 1 – Coming in November

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_iBLX2wNGYI0/TLDEv6ucC_I/AAAAAAAAACo/gHjBVDapOkk/s320/LIGHTsample.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5526133070280526834" />
This new album is my 6th solo Gorilla Gospel album. Todd G The Light features JB The Don (A.K.A. Preacher J), KB The New, Cool Nutz, Arjay, J-Philly, Michael Kay, Hi-Q and more. 11 new tracks, 11 new reports of praise, faith and hope. Every song on the album is produced by Hi-Q (Quizzyo) for Gorilla Gospel Records and Todd G Ministries. For the first time, I will explain the songs, the process from conception to mastering and everything in between.
1. Intro – Pastor Tee’s Prayer: This prayer was so powerful when I heard it, I knew right away it was the intro to the album. *Pastor T is the head pastor and founder of NBTT (Nuthin But The Truth Ministries) in Maryland, and a good friend of mine. The album was almost done, and I was looking for a good introduction to it. This is hands down the best intro I have every found and put together. I added synths, and samples of thunder and light rain to go with it. This theme re-occurs throughout the album as it unfolds. It symbolizes the dark weather and storms of life – and of course The Light that can shine through all of this.
2. Listen To God – featuring JB The Don (A.K.A. Preacher J): This song is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever worked on. I’ve never had an album start with another rapper rapping before me, but after it was done, I knew this was how this project should start. It is also important to me because JB and I have begun to record our group album together entitled, Swimming With Sharks – Coming in 2011.
3. Find My Way – featuring Arjay: As with every album I have recorded, I always do at least one song with Arjay. He is my favorite R&B singer in the industry and he also happens to be a good friend of mine and he is an ex-label mate on a record label I used to be signed to. This song is based on the verse Mathew 11:28. It is about finding rest in the Lord after all the ugliness.
4. Warning – Featuring KB: This song is an aggressive rap song that I recorded real aggressively. Due to the nature of the song, I needed to put KB on the last verse to finish it. As usual, I had to ad at least one or two Bishop TD Jakes samples to the album, and this is where you will find them on The Light. I also brought back the weather samples in the middle of the song with a fairly extensive breakdown that turns the song into an accapella mid-verse. Fun stuff. I am interested in making albums, and songs, more unique and implementing new ideas and concepts rather than just the regular old verse, chorus, verse format. I flew some of the vocals back into the hook area instead of using a traditional chorus.
5. Harder They Come...The intro to this song says it all. The album was finished, and Hi-Q sent me another beat that needed to go on the project. So, I wrote, recorded and mixed this song in about an hour. As a firm believer in the rough mix (on some songs), I simply EQ’d the vocals and called it a day. No rush, it just didn’t need anything added to it. It is what it is.
6. Interlude – Phone Check: This interlude is simply me holding my phone up to the mic in the studio and going through my voicemail. What you hear is the messages from my friends, both good and bad. Lol.
7. Aint Worth Nuthin – Featuring Michael Kay I am very excited about this song, because Michael Kay is so gifted and it is fun to work with him. I gave him free reigns to di what he wanted on this. I sent him half of my verse so he knew the general idea and he took it from there. I am also excited to hear his response to the final product because I remixed it, and had Hi-Q change the tracks music completely after he recorded his verse and the hook. It will be a surprise when he hears the final mix.
8. Stand For Sumthin – Featuring J-Philly Phil-Da-Beats homie! What else can I say. When you want a Christian rapper to completely show you up on your own song, you call J-Philly at Phil-Da-Beast Records. He is an animal. I wanted a fast paced, high energy song to speed the album up for a second. Wait till you hear it…
9. The Cross This song tells a story of two women. Both face difficult circumstances, but each chose a different route in life. Note: There is a surprise twist a the end of the second verse. The last verse I just spoke what was on my mind as I thoiught about Jesus being nailed to a cross and knowing that he was doing it for the same people that were putting him there to begin with. It was hard not be completely chocked up as I thought about the reality of this.
10. Son Shine- Featuring Cool Nutz: Son Shin isn’t a mis-spelling, it is a play on words. I wrote and recorded my vocals to this the day that Cool Nutz first born son arrived here on earth. Also, ironically, Cool Nutz album, Incredible, was nationally released on the same day little Max was born. So, I added some moderately encrypted lyrics to the Chorus about watching the Son Shine, “Incredible, isn’t it?” and of course I’m talking about another son who was born 2000 years before Max too.
11. My Testimony – Featuring Hi-Q: Originally, this song was going to be the first song on the album. The song breaks down in the middle of it completely reminiscent of early N.W.A. albums where Dr. Dre would launch into a skit mid-song. The skit, in this case, is actually a sample from the video of my wedding reception on July 3rd 2010. Our friend Tina Sullivan gave us a toast that was heavily anointed by the Holy Spirit. Had to sample it! The song, and album, finishes with Hi-Q rapping. I felt this was great because he had produce the whole album top to bottom.

The album was mixed and recorded in my home studio and then sent to the worlds greatest mastering facility, Freq Mastering in Portland Oregon. There, Ryan Foster mastered the songs, arranged some of the order details and red booked it ready for press.

Rapper Changed by God Begins New Life...

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 266px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_iBLX2wNGYI0/TH9MySD-zJI/AAAAAAAAACY/1_jhJ8Dm6Uk/s320/_jbthedon_mediafriends.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5512208895650483346" />
This weekend I was given the opportunity and blessing to conduct the wedding of JB The Don (Formerly known as JB Evil). The details of how this transpired are all part of a long story, but I will say, wow! What a confirmation of how God works. I was prepared for this wedding before I knew that I would be doing it – because God knew. It didn’t matter that no one else did. To see JB seeking God and finding answers is one of the more exciting things I’ve seen lately. I’m very proud of him. He makes mistakes, suffers set backs, but every time he gets back up and keeps heading in the direction that God has for him. I have so many thoughts in my head I’m not sure I would know where to begin if I tried expressing them all. What I can explain is this: Perhaps it is because of my past in Nevada – and Reno in particular, but I was struck with a heavy sadness for all of the people who are searching for something. Of course, it is great to search, but so many people will search in so many wrong places and for so long that when they reach the end of their lives they will look back at nothing but emptiness and roads that delivered them into the middle of nowhere. Reno was one of those places for me. When I lived there, I was empty – for real! I had a lot of the accoutrements that the world offers, but very little on the inside, except sadness. While I was living there, I didn’t gamble. I just cashed in on all the vice. I was a spoke in the wheel of greed that strips people of their dignity, money and in the end their lives. And I can report to you people who are not in this type of environment, this life that I speak of is still alive and well. The gamblers lose their money, the casinos take it, the tricks give their money to prostitutes, the prostitutes take it, the drug users give their money to dope dealers, the dope dealers take it….you get the point?... My point is this, the key words here is “give” and “take”. The more people take, the more they actually end up losing. If you take everything the world has to offer, you end up empty – unfulfilled. The more you “give” to the world in search of satisfaction, the more you end up empty - unfulfilled. Everybody thinks they are smarter or slicker than the next guy. They think they will find what they are looking for. But the truth is, there is nothing out there that will fulfill us. Only god can do that. Lord, I pray that we don’t forget this. And if we don’t know this, I pray we will attempt to look toward you and give YOU a try. I know that true to your word, you not only restore, but you fulfill. Amen.

Are you empty? Try God. Take a look at Ecclesiastes. Even historians who don’t except Jesus to be God agree that this book was written by one of the richest men who ever lived. I’m talking about Bill Gates type money. Bigger. King Solomon was not only rich but he was one of the wisest men who ever lived. Possessions, money, women, he had it all….Read the book! Everything he could have, he tried. In the end he continues to see and document that everything is meaningless and leaves him empty….everything but God.

www.toddgministries.com

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_iBLX2wNGYI0/TFzr-7VITdI/AAAAAAAAAB4/8_Xw8KY8Mvw/s320/homeless-man.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5502532311050636754" />
Today I met with a senior pastor of a church who has been in the streets feeding the homeless for quite some time. After many months of this, some of the board members of the church suggested that they hold a church service on Saturday night at the under bridge where they had been feeding the people. The pastor said no, they would bus in those who wanted to go to their church instead. Some didn’t understand this - or more to the point - were uncomfortable with this idea. Later in the conversation after he explained his vision and passion for his church, he told me about a homeless man they found drinking beer stark naked in the church bathroom while talking to himself in the mirror. And actually that was one of the more tame stories of things that had happened if you can believe it! Anyways, the pastor said he cared more about loving people than he did about the building. He acknowledged that the plans for our upcoming outreach may in fact cause a bit of property damage due to the demographic we are trying to reach; stained carpets, holes in the wall, ect. He said he didn’t care because loving people was more important. I am not writing this to put this man on a pedestal or suggest that causing property damage to church is cool. But I WILL say, if you find a church like this, cherish it and hold on to it.... Last night, I was in a church where if Jesus walked in wearing tattered rags and not smelling so... "churchy" - if you will, he would be welcomed, loved and accepted. This experience has added more fuel to my already-burning-hot fire for our upcoming events. Please contact us to get involved. I might be messy, but it’s gunna be real! www.toddgministries.com

Gorilla Gospel Testimony Tour...

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_iBLX2wNGYI0/TFr7ZHV-e-I/AAAAAAAAABw/klxshzI5nOk/s320/Head1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5501986303673007074" />

My dear friends. We are preparing to begin the promotional process for our up coming speaking tour, Gorilla Gospel. We will hit the road with Brian "Head" Welch (founding member of the rock band Korn) and hit the world to share our testimonies live. This will be church like the world has not seen yet. Our passion and direction is to show the secular world that Jesus is alive and well - and His followers might not fit the mold that has been cast for believers. There will be alot of exciting surprises in this program. We look forward to your support and prayers. God bless you.

Todd G

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_iBLX2wNGYI0/TCGcqzJffsI/AAAAAAAAABQ/JG8DUshICnw/s320/toddg-blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485838080212434626" />
Don't call it a comeback, God's been here for years! Each day as I pray for my friends who are still living in the darkness of crime, prisons, and substance abuse, I pray that they will hear God's still, small, ever present voice. I used to pray, God please speak to (fill in the blank) like it was a choice that God might chose to speak. Obviously, I was somewhat misguided and mistaken for these prayers. God ALWAYS is speaking to us. We just don't always listen. In fact, we USUALLY don't listen. My friends, He is speaking to us right now. It is up to us to quiet the noise of our lives enough to hear Him. This week, take an hour to get alone and process this. Believe me, it can be life changing. The world has a way of drowning out God's word. We get to busy to hear His voice, read His word, meditate on it, or just plain get in line with what He wants for us. And remember, His plans are for us to prosper and have true restoration, not to hurt us or bog us down. You think different? You're wrong. The devil is a lie!

Today, as we move forward with the preparation and planning for our Gorilla Gospel Testimony Tour, we want to stay focused on the fact that every idea and vision that comes from God will be blessed and honored by Him. It's easy to feel the pressure build as the stakes get high, but we got to constantly remind ourselves that God is the one who will open and close the doors - not us. This not only takes the burden off of our heads, but it allows us to live right where God wants us to be - relying on Him to get it all done, and done right. Please pray with us for the right doors to be opened for us as we prepare to take the gospel message out of the church and into the streets.

www.toddgministries.com

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 267px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_iBLX2wNGYI0/S_n0kOkOYBI/AAAAAAAAAAc/IGjzwfzAuTs/s320/ToddGMinistries.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5474675725268049938" />
Here's what I like to call, "The bizness"...1 Corinthians 3:18 and 19. "If any of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a fool so that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's site." (NIV)

Here's the deal. When we got alot going for us, it is easy to forget who blessed us with it all. When I make a few good business decisions with what I think is "my savvy maneuvering" my mind starts to slip and well, take credit for it - BUT, the credit is not mine for the taking. Shoot, really, I did this for almost two decades on a day to day basis. I thought I was slick, cunning, savvy, coy and keen all rolled up into one. I outsmarted the cops, the feds, the department of parole and probation and my enemies all at the same time while managing to make alot of money and evading capture. (Well, a few years in lock-up here and there, but over all....you get my point.) But as God has reveled to me so clearly, I was none of the above listed things. Dumb, selfish and hurtful? Yes. As the deeper our spiritual roots grow, the more we see: what we SEE is not always what it appears to be or the way it is. Hmmmmm. Anyways, if you go back a chapter in 1 Corinthians to 1:25, the Bible says, "For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength." I can dig that. But more importantly we gotta remember that and apply it to our lives. I think my best advice on this is something the man who led me to Christ used to say. When you receive and accolade or praise for doing something great, hold it in your hand like a rose, smell it, enjoy it for a minute, and then hand it up towards God, because it is His. Not ours. And what an amazing God we have that allows us to get a little slice of His action. Nice.

Mathew 11:28

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 267px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_iBLX2wNGYI0/S_Yh50lMNXI/AAAAAAAAAAU/HVHPC6UTKB0/s320/ToddGMinistries.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5473599674366309746" />

Matt. 11:28
Man, this is what I'm talking about today! Sometimes you don't just get hit with a problem here or there, but instead life becomes a hailstorm of problems. I'm feeling it right now. Attack from my past, attack from my present,and attack from within. But, at the end of the day, I can take great solace in this verse (Mat. 11:28). I'd quote it, but I'd rather you look it up. Get in the Word my friends. There is rest ahead, waiting for us. Patiently, as always. Amen, my ninjas, amen.

I was reading, "Save Me From Myself" by Korn's ex-guitarist Brian "Head" Welch and I was extremely inspired. His testimony has so many similarities to mine - and thousands of others as well! The attack he felt as a fresh and new believer is straight up text book! Amazing. This verse from Matthew has given him alot of peace and it was a great reminder to pass it on to you all. God bless you! www.toddgministries.com Know about it.

In Hawaii...

<img style="float:left; <![endif]-->
In September 2008, I returned home from Waikiki, Hawaii, where I spent six days by myself. My hotel was on Kuhio Avenue, "the track" where I used to fly to and have girls work on. After about 11 o'clock at night, things still look the same: prostitutes, pimps, d-boys and other miscellaneous hustlers. For the first time I was an observer as I watched the street life unfold, removed from what was going on.

            Right away, I was filled with a great deal of remorse and shame for the person I once was. Why was I so blind to other people’s feelings? Why did I choose such a destructive path to walk out at the expense of others? Man, I just didn't care.

            An uncomfortable looking blonde girl walked by on heals that she was not accustomed to walking on. She looked like a poster child for being miserable and probably not a day over 19. As she clutched her pack of cigarettes to her chest like it was a child’s blanket, I saw that she was hiding in the shadows, wishing she was anywhere but where she was right at that very moment. I’m sure some months earlier she was just another damaged and unhappy young girl who met the wrong guy and bought into the dream he was selling. I’m sure she was bored to death in whatever small town she came from, thinking, well, anything would be better than another day stuck in this same-old place. Little did she know.

            Painfully, I also reflected back to what I would say and do - as her pimp inevitably will, too - when he finds her hiding in the shadows dreaming about disappearing instead of aggressively propositioning the prospective "tricks" that also crawl through these same streets. It’s going to get even uglier for her soon. I remember nothing making me more upset than a girl not working at full speed. How crazy is that?

            Man, what I wouldn't give to talk to all those girls and explain the heartache and pain that they are setting themselves up for, the feelings of being used and abused that will be like the gift that keeps on giving long after this period of their life is over. They get to live with that long after these pimps have moved on. But, I know the game. These girls won’t listen to some random stranger telling them what I know. It’s just not how it is.

            So I began to pray. I prayed for the girls that I saw working the same streets my girls used to work when these new girls that walk here now were only like 7 or 8 years old. Same game, but a lifetime ago.

            I prayed for the city, and I also prayed for the pimps. Are their hearts hard? Yeah. Would they be upset to know that I am writing this about the game? Yeah. But, see, I’ve been there. I did that. I know the empty dreams that they are chasing. The empty hole in their souls that the money and the jewelry and the cars will not be able to fill, I had that -- front and center, first hand.

            Man, if they knew that the same way they are using these girls the Devil is using them and laughing all the way from Hell. They don’t know the joke’s on them.

            I don’t hate these pimps and hustlers. Matter of fact, I love them. I love them for real. See, if Jesus can love me, I figure I gotta step it up. What I gotta do is pray -- pray for their eyes to be opened, that there will be revival, that they will hear that small voice in their heart and stop ignoring it.

            If you read these thoughts of mine and you know God, please pray as well. Pray for love. It’s the only thing that will concur hate.

            If you want a list of who to pray for, pray for the pimps and prostitutes working in Waikiki, in the Tenderloin in Frisco, in the brothels in Nevada. Pray for clarity so that the folks still out in the game will see (like gospel music artist Kirk Franklin said) that there's a blessing in the storm.

            My dudes and ladies still there, please just know that there is hope. I never thought I could leave the game because of the same feelings you all feel: the hopelessness, the thoughts that everybody outside the game has no idea what you've gone through and what it’s like, the madness. But my dear friends, I’ve been there...and I've surrendered my life to God. He has restored me and against all odds made me whole again. That’s big, extra large sized.

            As my plane touched ground in Portland, Oregon, I was back home. But this is where my story actually begins. Now, there is work to do. It’s time to get movin’.

Welcome to my blog.
